The Kennet Valley Area of the MVT is celebrating 40 years of the MVT with this excellent one-off WW2 commemorative convoy and re-enactment.  The event will take place over three days, with the theme being Operation Market-Garden. As can be seen above, the dates for the event are May 3rd, 4th & 5th, 2008. Please use the links at the top of the page to view more information.  The event is open to all MVT members regardless of vehicles owned, however only war time vehicles will be allowed in the convoys but members are encouraged to join in the activities of the event, by riding in such vehicles.Re-enactors and vehicle owners are encouraged to click here for registration forms and important notices.  The event is brought to you by the Kennet Valley Area of the MVT, and the same team that brought you "Operation Bolero" and "Gathering of Eagles ".

The military convoy will be departing at 0900 Hours on the 3rd of May, so we'd request that all those interested in the parade are on site prior to the departure time in order to guarentee a spot.

On Sunday evening a 1940s Dance will be held in the Memorial Hall, with a live band and a British based 1940’s Fashion Show, this is a ticketed event.  The Evening activities will be concluded by a spectacular Wartime Searchlight Display in the centre of the Village free to all.

Finally on Monday there will be an arena in the show field where there will be displays including Firing Artillery, Tanks and Armour movements. As well as display on the ground there will also be a flying display from an Auster and Spitfire followed by a Parachute Drop and display from a Dakota, finished by final Parade of Re-enactors to honour the veterans from the operation.
